November 2017 Favourites

I LOVE to watch monthly favourite videos on YouTube, so I thought I would give it a shot (in blog form)! Am I going to become one of those people who are like, "I know I say this every month, but X month went by so fast!"? Who knows, we'll find out together.

FAVOURITE FOOD

This month I've been obsessed with making bowls that are 50% kale and 50% quinoa based. I'm never fully satisfied with a true salad (#carbsarelife), and I didn't feel like I was getting enough greens - and so the kale/quinoa combo was born! I make my bowls topped with tofu, tomato, avocado, dried cranberries, and cucumber. It's based off the All Star Salad from Fresh, which is pictured below. I'm not a huge dressing person, so even though I've been testing out different sauce recipes I've yet to find a winner - I'll save that for a future 'favourties'!

FAVOURITE BEAUTY PRODUCT

As for beauty I went on a huge hunt for a new cruelty free foundation (if you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen this in my stories), and FINALLY settled on the Tarte's tinted moisturizer . I love it because it's buildable, but you can also wear a it super casually and it doesn't look like you're too 'done'.

FAVOURITE BOOK

I'm a huge reader, and while I normally stay firmly planted in the teen section (read what you love, you know? Screw labels), I ventured outside my comfort zone and read The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware (okok, it was only a tip toe outside my comfort zone). It's about a journalist who gets invited on a press trip for the launch of a cruise ship, and on the first night she hears a scream and a splash into the ocean from the room next to hers... but when she alerts the staff they tell her that no one was staying in that room....

It's similar in style to The Girl on the Train, and I'm definitely going to read more of Ruth Ware's books! I'm ALWAYS looking for reccomendations, so let me know if you're read a good one lately!
